Real Madrid's lead at the top of the table was whittled down to just one point after last weekend's draw against Celta. And with Barcelona in action earlier on Saturday, Zidane's team could have dropped down a place before the ball gets rolling at the Ciutat de València.

Zidane will be taking a 19-man travelling party to the east coast for the match. Not included in the squad are Gareth Bale and Luka Jovic - both of whom are recovering from stomach bugs. Nor was there any room for Rodrygo or Nacho, both excluded for technical decision. Eden Hazard is included though and he could be handed his second run-out in a week after returning from injury.

Levante are one of the teams lodged in the middle order, sitting 13th on 29 points. Paco López's team haven't yet got into their stride in 2020, having won just one game - against Leganés a fortnight ago. Howwever, Madrid will recall that the Granotas beat Barcelona 3-1 in week 12 and they have taken points from this fixture in the past (they've drawn two and won one - in 2011). "Here, the objective is to win every game," Paco López said on the eve of the match. "If we beat Madrid, great - three points and we'll all be happy. But then we have Eibar, then Granada... we have to win those games too".

With the Fear Clause no longer applicable, Borja Mayoral will be able to line up against his parent club. The striker has supplied five of the team's 30 league goals this season - half as many as top scorer and strike partner, Roger Martí.

Levante were saddened to learn that former player Manuel Campuzano passed away on the eve of the game, aged 62. The club could hold a minute's silence to remember him before Saturday's game.
