Coronavirus: No decision made on Euro 2020 name

UEFA have rectified and earlier tweet saying that while Euro 2020 would be played from 11 June to 11 July, it would still be called Euro 2020. They said in a later tweet that no decision had been made on the name of the tournament to take place next year. The tournament has been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic in an effort to let leagues finish their respective seasons.

Javier Tebas, LaLiga's president, says moving Euro 2020 ensures the Spanish football league will have no problem finishing. Others countries are said to be keen to finish their leagues too but given the uncertainty of the current crisis, nothing is set in stone regarding future fixtures. UEFA have contacted people who applied for and bought tickets for the games.

UEFA hoping Euro 2020 venues remain the same

The tournament was set to be played in Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, England, Azerbaijan, Denmark, Hungary, Romania, Republic of Ireland, Russia and Scotland. There were fears that the format would be changed but UEFA also said that: "We trust that all of our venues will remain the same, ensuring the tournament remains true to its original vision of staging a truly Europe-wide event."

Finally, UEFA asked what would happen to other competitions and they answered it themselves:

"All competitions have been postponed until further notice. We are working on solutions for each of them as soon as resuming play is possible."

The Women's Euro 2021 tournament is set to be moved to accommodate the moved Euro 2020 as is the Nations League with uncertainty rife around the footballing world.
