LAFC has shown that even without the Major League Soccer's MVP Carlos Vela, who decided not to participate because of personal reasons, they are able to score goals, but their problem in this tournament has been the defense. They have conceded a total of seven goals in three matches.

LAFC first MLS game was against Seattle

LAFC’s debut in MLS was in 2018 in Seattle against the Sounders and they won 1-0. Then they met again last year in the Western Conference Finals at the Banc of California stadium and Seattle Sounders defeated LAFC, knocking them out of the MLS Cup final.

To date, LAFC has yet to lose to the Sounders in MLS regular season play, registering an all-time record of 3-0-1. Also in 2018’s match Diego Rossi scored the first goal in the history of Los Angeles Football Club.
