Club América defeat Tijuana in second week of 2020 Guardianes
Henry Martín scored two goals in Club América's 4-0 win over Xolos of Tijuana in the second week of the 2020 Guardianes tournament in the Liga MX.
Club América demonstrated their superiority over Club Tijuana: they had 22 shots, nine on target throughout the 90 minutes of the second week of the 2020 Guardianes tournament. The home team had less possession but they were more effective during the match.
América arrived with a lot of injuries but they managed to leave with three points after match day two. The first attempt came at the 15th minute when the referee called for a penalty for Tijuana, but after checking the play he changed his decision.
After that Richard Sánchez scored the first goal of the game, to give the home team the advantage. América went back to the locker room, and then came out stronger in the second half. In the 56th minute defender Bruno Valdez scored their second.
A few minutes later Henry Martín scored the third and secured América their three points before following up with a fourth in the 84th minute. With this result América completes two victories in a row and next week they will face Necaxas. Tijuana will look to bounce back as they host Tigres.
