Tunisian League draw has been staged amidst the absence of clubs' representatives
The Tunisian Football Federation staged the draw of fixtures for the 2020-2021 season on Friday while no delegates from clubs
Tunisian Football Federation has held the 2020-2021 season league draw of fixtures that hasn't been attended by representatives of clubs due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The head of competitions' committee Amin Mogo put down the absence of clubs' deputies to the current health situation in the country pointing out that the draw has to be a stage in line with maintaining precautionary measures set by health authorities.
While the chief of the Tunisian professional league Mohamed Al-Arabi commented "We have staged the draw under very special conditions while preserving health protocols".
First-round fixtures of the Tunisian League:
The opening games of the season are scheduled for 7 and 8 November, with a derby set to be held between CS Sfaxien and US Monastir, Espérance Sportive de Tunis will face AS Soliman while CA Bizertin host Étoile Sportive du Sahel, the newly-promoted AS Rejiche will face US Tataouine. ES Métlaoui is set to face US Ben Guerdane whereas Stade Tunisien will meet Olympique Béja.
CS Chebba that has been relegated to the fourth division and banned from participating in football events this season, as per a decision made by Tunisian Football Federation, will be replaced by a team to be decided by a four-team championship that will take place between 31 October and 8 November. The four teams participating are; Hammam-Lif, JS Kairouan, EGS Gafsa, and EO Sidi Bouzid with the winner set to play against Club Africain in the opening round.
According to the calendar, the capital derby between the reigning champion Espérance Sportive de Tunis and Club Africain to be held in the eleventh round, while CS Sfaxien and Club Africain derby will be held in the third round.
