The Dragons go into the match having just lost one of their last 11 matches, topping their UEFA Nations League group with three wins (all by the same 1-0 scoreline and all three goals coming after minute 80) and one draw.
But their opponents USA have also performed quite well lately. Gregg Berhalter’s team have won their last three games against Canada (4-1), Cuba (4-0) and Costa Rica (1-0). However, they have won only one of their last seven against the Home Nations, defeating Scotland 5-1 in 2012.
Wales will look to grab victory without star Gareth Bale, who is set to be rested after picking up yet another injury against West Bromwich, while Chris Gunter is likely to be in the starting XI. If he gets to play in Wales’ next three games, he will reach his 100th cap.
Danny Ward will surely be the goalkeeper for the next few matches, as Wayne Hennessey and Adam Davies are both unavailable, while Aaron Ramsey has withdrawn due to injury.
As for the USA, Tyler Adams hasn’t played with the national team since March 2019, in a friendly against Ecuador, due to an injury, but he seems to have fully recovered and could be back in action against Wales.
On the other hand, 11 players have already made their first appearances for the USA squad before turning 18 and two more could join that list against Wales: Borussia Dortmund’s Gio Reyna and Valencia’s Yunus Musah.
The last player to make his debut before turning 18 was current Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic, who earned his first cap in a World Cup qualifier at 17 in 2016.
