Red Bull Salzburg's Dominik Szoboszlai is touted as being one of the most promising emerging stars in European football. He made the headlines last week for scoring the decisive goal for Hungary in their qualifier for the 2021 Euros and he already knows that Real Madrid have been closely tracking him - as AS reported recently.

Szoboszlai's agent Esterházy Mátyás has admitted that the player is ready to move on. "We're seeing that every time he has a good game, which fortunately is happening quite often, the rumours are getting stronger. However,  our strategy isn't going to change because of one or two games. We have belief in our own plans and the vision we had originally is only getting stronger because all of the comments we are reading only prove that we are on the right path,"he told DIGI Sport's Sport 24.

Szoboszlai ready to move up a notch

Mátyás hedged a guess as to when Szoboszlai will be ready to make the leap to one of Europe's big clubs: "Whether it's in January or next summer, the most important thing is that he goes to a club where he will have a good chance of playing regularly and continuing the learning curve he started in Salzburg - that's the most important thing for us. Obviously, it's no secret that Dominik  is closer now to leaving the Austrian league," he explained.

Transfermarkt have valued the 20-year-old at 25 million euros, a reasonable figure for player who has shown he can play as an attacking midfielder or coming inside from the left flank. He will be out of contract in 2022 and has no plans to renew which means that Salzburg will be forced to sell... Apart from Madrid, Arsenal and AC Milan have been monitoring his progress...
