Headed by the Egyptian Hassan Moustafa, the International Handball Association has devised a strategy to confront potential crisis on the horizon ahead of the World Cup tournament set to be held in Egypt between 13 and 31 January next year as several airports are expected to shut down due to the outbreak of the covid-19 second wave.

The Egyptian Handball Association president and the head of the committee responsible for organizing the tournament Hesham Nassr announced in an official statement that the international federation is willing to provide private planes that will carry the national teams participating in the competition to Egypt should their countries shut their airports down.

With the recent surge of covid-19 cases in many countries, authorities in several states have resorted to imposing lockdown restrictions once again in an attempt to restrain the spread of the virus with several countries considering the suspension of flights and shutting down their air-fields.

"The international association will provide a private plane to transport the national teams taking part in the tournament in case any airport was closed due to covid-19 pandemic according to what has been said by the Hassan Moustafa the president of the international aviation," Nasr told reporters.

The tournament's game is set to be held at 4 courts in the cities of Cairo, Giza, and Alexandria.
