Neymar ruled out of PSG-Barcelona Champions League last 16 second leg.

Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona will decide their Champions League Last 16 tie on Wednesday at Parc de Princes. The Ligue 1 champions go into the return leg in a commanding position after having thrashed Barça 1-4 in the first leg at Camp Nou on 16 February.with Kylian Mbappé netting a hat trick.

Neymar has missed PSG's last six games

Neymar missed the first leg. He suffered a Grade II sprain to his left adductor in the Coupe de France Third Round meeting with Caen six days earlier. Since then, he has been working on his return to fitness. Apart from the first leg against Barca, he has sat out PSG’s last four Ligue 1 games – against Nice, Monaco, Dijon and Girondins Bordeaux as well as last weekend’s Coupe de France tie against Stade Brestois.

There was some positive news for PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino this weekend – Neymar trained alongside Alessandro Florenzi on Saturday and was able to take part in Sunday’s session at Camp des Loges with those who hadn’t taken part in the Cup game. Neymar who missed the first leg, has returned to training.

Neymar to be assessed on Tuesday

The Brazilian will be assessed in Tuesday’s session to determine whether he can be included in the squad list but like Florezi and Thilo Kehrer, he remains doubtful. Moise Kean, who was on the scoresheet with Mbappé at Camp Nou last month, is recovering from Coronavirus and will likely miss the second leg Pochettino said little about Neymar’s chances of playing the return leg against his old club. "We are very happy with his progress and we will see in the next few days if he can be part of the group for Barcelona," the coach said. After having been sidelined for 27 days, it is highly unlikely that Neymar will feature in the starting XI but he could make the squad list - if he does, there is a chance he could come on for the last half hour.
