Legendary Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernández, who is currently in charge of Al Sadd, has been making history with the Qatari outfit since accepting the head coach job, as he has just won his sixth piece of silverware and his first league title as a head coach, having wrapped up the Qatari league title with four games to spare.

Al Sadd's coronation as champions of Qatar comes a few days after the team lifted the Qatari Cup for the second year in a row after defeating rivals Al Duhail in both title deciders.

Xavi's glorious days at Al Sadd have made him the outstanding candidate to be Ronald Koeman's replacement at Barcelona, especially amidst the wavering form of the Catalans who are on the verge of being eliminated from UEFA Champions League having lost 4-1 to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the round of 16.

All speculation suggests that Xavi is currently the most well-suited man for the Barça should the Spanish giants consider letting go of their current Dutch manager.

Xavi had revealed on several previous occasions that leading Barcelona is one of his biggest dreams, although he also pointed out he is happy at Al Sadd and that he sees the club as one of the biggest on the continent, his excitement clear after landing his first league title. "We created a new history for Al Sadd," Xavi said. "I am happy to win the league title for the first time as a coach with Al Sadd, after winning it as a player."

Several media reports also suggest that Joan Laporta's victory in Barcelona's presidential elections boosts Xavi's chances of being Koeman's successor if the Dutchman fails to prove he is the right man for the job. Koeman's situation improved to some extent when his team managed to make a comeback against Sevilla in the Copa del Rey semi-finals after losing 2-0 in the first leg.
