Real Madrid's Varane on Benzema, Mbappé and Zidane
The French defender was staying out of the debate about Benzema but was quick to highlight his importance to Los Blancos as well as discussing PSG's UCL chances.
Real Madrid and France defender Raphael Varane spoke in his homeland about the good form Karim Benzema is in right now, but was clear that he didn’t want to get involved in the war of words between Zidane Zidane and Didier Deschamps.
He was also quick to praise a younger Frenchman, Kylian Mbappé but didn’t give too much away about him joining him in the Spanish capital next season.
Varane rates PSG’s Champions League credentials
On Benzema: “He's a hard worker and those people always progress. He is playing his best football, he’s a class act, and he is proving to be very important for Real Madrid. But it's not my role to interfere between Zinedine Zidane and Didier Deschamps".
On Champions League candidates: "PSG have the qualities in their squad to go far in this competition, and they’ve already shown that. They are one of the teams in contention for the title. They have built some experience in recent years. They’re not missing much, they have all the attributes to go all the way.”
On Mbappé: "I aim to play with the best players and Kylian is one of the best players in Europe.”
