Now it is time that the ‘golden generation’ starts winning championships, since they failed to qualify to the 2018 World Cup and haven’t won a title since the 2017 Gold Cup. Prior to facing Honduras in the semi-final of the CONCACAF Nations League, Chelsea’s No 10 spoke about his thirst for titles.

This year will be a test for us and we will know what this team is capable of. I believe in this group of players and the potential they have, but now it’s time for them to demonstrate it on the pitch. We have to start winning, because that will give us confidence for what’s ahead,” Berhalter said during Bobby Warshaw’s podcast.

During their four group games, the USMNT netted 15 goals and they have only lost once in their last 11 matches in all competitions. But Gerardo Martino’s men also go into the match in good form, as they have lost just once in their last 14 games.

Gregg Berhalter's side qualified for the final round of the competition after beating Honduras, while Mexico defeated Costa Rica on penalties.
