Since Messi has joined PSG, it looks like he’ll be part of another dominant trio. In fact, it’s already been dubbed “MNM”. Combined, the trio had 66 goals and 21 assists in their respective leagues last season. The Argentine superstar and Neymar formed part of another dominant trio with Luis Suarez, known as the MSN trio. Now Messi and Neymar have the opportunity to play alongside each other yet again.

"To play alongside Mbappe and Neymar in attack is crazy, I'm really excited to get started," Messi said at his press conference. Messi has also said that Neymar played a big part in his decision to make the move too PSG.

The MNM trio stats

Lionel Messi

Messi left Barcelona as LaLiga’s all-time record goalscorer with a total of 474 goals, which includes 36 hat-tricks. He won 35 major trophies, including 10 league titles during his time at the club. The 34-year-old has won four Champions Leagues, and is hoping to win a fifth with PSG.

Neymar

Neymar played in Barcelona alongside Messi for a while, but joined PSG in 2017. He has 262 career goals, 87 of which are for PSG (in 70 games). His best season with PSG was his first, when he saw 19 goals and 13 assists. He’s completed 394 dribbles, almost 100 more than any other player. Neymar’s goals and assists have declined gradually since 2017, but he hopes to increase them with the arrival of his former teammate.

Kylian Mbappé

We will see Mbappe play alongside Messi for the first time. He’s played for PSG since 2017, after leaving Monaco where he scored 27 goals in 60 games. Though they arrived at the same time, Mbappe has played 2,000 more minutes than Neymar. Mbappe has made 237 goal contributions in 232 games. He has finished as L1’s top scorer the last three seasons.
