Dak will sit Saturday
The biggest story coming into tonight’s game is Dak Prescott. His long awaited return to the gridiron will have to wait at least a week, but realistically he isn’t expected to get back under center until Week 1 of the regular season.
Despite Dak’s absence, there will be plenty to keep an eye on Saturday night. The Cowboys lost have lost their first two games of the preseason, and are averaging less than 10 points a night in those contests. With just one touchdown coming in the first eight quarters of the preseason, Mike McCarthy’s men have yet to find a way to punch the ball into the end zone.
Texans looking to make it two in a row
The Texans are in a rebuilding year, whether the are willing to admit it or not. In a year like this, preseason maybe even more important, considering your not just building your team for this year but for the long term.
Deshaun Watson sat out the Texans 26-7 win over the Green Bay Packers last week. Tyrod Taylor started the game, going 4/4 for a modest 40 yards. The Houston run game looked good at spurts combining for over 150 yards, but the real star was Ka’imi Fairbairn, who was a perfect 4/4 with his field goals and single handily out scored the Packers.
Daivd Johnson will be one to watch for the Texans tomorrow. He is looking to secure his spot as the top Texans running back, but an unsteady 2020 season has him on the hot seat.
