The head coach of the NBA Champion Milwaukee Bucks, Mike Budenholzer has a signed a a three year extension that will keep him with the team until 2025.

Milwaukee champs over 50 years later

Budenholzer led the Bucks to their first NBA title in over a half century, and has been rewarded with a contract extension that will keep him in Milwaukee for the next four seasons.

Budenholzer has been the boss of the Bucks for the last three seasons, and in those three seasons the Bucks have gone to the Eastern Conference finals twice, including their title run this summer.

The players make the success happen: Budenholzer

"The appreciation I have for being a part of the Bucks organization is hard to express," said Budenholzer, who was entering the final year of his previous contract. "The players make the success happen on and off the court. We have the best players and to them I am grateful. They've grown and we've grown together during the last three seasons.

The Bucks already have their sights set on next season said Budeholzer in a statement shortly after signing the three year extension, "We all can't wait to get back to work and face the great challenge of competing again for an NBA Championship. ... Let's keep getting better and building great teams and doing great work on and off the court."

Bucks building for the future

Previous to landing in Milwaukee, “Bud” led the Atlanta Hawks to the playoffs four out of the five years he was there. Since joining the Bucks, the two time NBA Coach of the Year has been to the playoffs three years running and is looking for a repeat championship chase next year.

The Bucks future is looking bright. Not only did Budenholzer sign on for three more years, but Giannis Antetokounmpo penned a five-year $228 million dollar extension with Milwaukee in December.

"We're extremely grateful for the leadership Bud provides and we look forward to building on the success we've had over the last three years and congratulate Bud on this well-deserved extension." Said Bucks general manager Jon Horst.
