Ajax scouts meet Ricardo Pepi’s representatives
According to multiple reports, the United States men’s international team striker is set to move to Europe in the next two weeks.
Ricardo Pepi is having a breakout season with FC Dallas in his third year in Major League Soccer. The 18-year-old has already made his debut with the United States men’s national team and earlier this month, Pepi became the second-youngest USMNT player to score in a World Cup qualifier (18 years and 224 days old), just behind Christian Pulisic.
Pepi could sign new contract in next two weeks
FC Dallas are aware that many teams are keen on signing the USMNT striker, so they have put a price tag of $10 million on him. According to journalist Chris Smith, representatives from Eredivisie side Ajax watched last weekend’s game between FC Dallas and Vancouver.
Ricardo Pepi played the full 90 minutes and he couldn’t help his team from losing 1-0 and their possibilities to make it to the playoffs are looking unlikely. After the match, scouts from Ajax met with the player's representatives to discuss a possible move to the Eredivisie in the next couple of weeks.
Another team that is keen on signing the FC Dallas striker is Juventus, but they have not made a formal offer for the 18-year-old. Pepi has scored 12 goals and given three assists in 25 appearances this campaign, impressive numbers for the young and talented forward.
