Astros vs Braves: times, TV channel, radio and how to watch World Series Game 1 online tonight
All the information you need on how and where to watch Game 1 of the 2021 World Series between the Astros and Braves at Minute Maid Park.
The Houston Astros and the Atlanta Braves go head-to-head for the biggest prize in baseball when the World Series gets underway on Tuesday 26 October in Game 1 of the 2021 championship series at Minute Maid Park. The Astros are in the World Series for the third time in five years after winning the title in 2017 – not without a fair amount of controversy – before returning to the showpiece series in 2019 when they were beaten by the Washington Nationals. The Braves, meanwhile, are featuring in a World Series for the first time since 1999, when they were swept 4-0 by the Yankees.
The two sides are no strangers having contested the National League Division Series five times from 1997-2005 over a nine-year span before the Astros moved to the American League. Overall, the Braves have won the World Series three times from nine appearances, while the Astros have just the one victory in three appearances, the 2017 series when they beat the LA Dodgers 4-3. Houston were subsequently handed a $5 million fine for gamesmanship after it emerged that employees used various tactics to gain an unfair advantage during the series.
The 117th World Series will get underway at Minute Maid Park with Houston hosting the opening two games, before the action moves to Truist Park for the next three games. If the series is still unresolved, it will move back to Houston for the remaining two games.
