PSG eye Adeyemi as replacement for Real Madrid target Mbappe
According to Sky Sports, PSG have set their sights on Salzburg sensation Karim Adeyemi to replace Kylian Mbappé if he moves to Real Madrid.
In a little over two months Kylian Mbappé will be free to talk to clubs outside Ligue 1 ahead of becoming a free agent in June when his contract at PSG expires. Although the Parc des Princes board remain hopeful that the France forward will eventually put pen to paper on a new deal, so far Mbappé has proven reluctant to commit his future to the Ligue 1 giants amid interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona and the Premier League. As such, PSG have started to cast their eye around for a potential replacement to form a new attacking triumvirate in Paris alongside Neymar and Leo Messi.
According to Sky Sports Germany, one of the names that has crossed PSG sporting director Leonardo’s desk is that of 19-year-old Salzburg striker Karim-David Adeyemi. The Munich-born attacker already has three senior caps for Germany and has been likened to Mbappé due to his playing style – based on speed, dribbling ability, taking defenders on and an eye for goal - and his return of 14 goals and two assists in 18 games this season has half of Europe keeping tabs.
Adeyemi’s place of birth has of course led to speculation that Bayern Munich will flex their muscles next summer and he has also been linked with Atlético, Real Madrid and Inter Milan. While PSG’s priority is to convince Mbappé to sign a new contract at the club, the Parisians are ensuring they are at the front of the queue for Adeyemi in case the France forward makes the move to Real Madrid in June.
