Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernández set to return against the Sounders
The Mexican international missed the 2-0 defeat against Sporting KC due to an illness, but he has recovered and will be available to face Seattle on Monday.
The Los Angeles Galaxy have no margin for error with two games left of the 2021 MLS regular season. Currently they sit in sixth place with 46 points, one more than Minnesota in eighth place, and they will go on the road to face the Seattle Sounders on 1 November.
‘Chicharito’ ready to play against Seattle
Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernández missed the Galaxy’s 2-0 road defeat against Sporting KC over the weekend because he was dealing with a high fever the night before traveling. The good news is that it was not coronavirus related and he rejoined training on Friday, so he will be available to play against Seattle on Monday.
“He [Javier Hernández] is good. He trained today [Friday] and he is feeling better. Hopefully he keeps feeling better day-after-day, but he felt good today and is ready to go,” said the LA Galaxy manager Greg Vanney.
The Mexican international is fighting to win the golden boot and is in the running to be named the MVP of the 2021 MLS regular season. ‘Chicharito’ has scored 14 goals and provided three assists in 19 appearances this campaign.
