Browns vs Packers on 2021 Christmas Day tickets: price and where to buy
Christmas Day traditions like turkey, festive sweaters and football lay in wait this year as the Green Bay Packers play host to the Cleveland Browns
Christmas morning means presents and hot chocolate and getting lunch ready and then settling in to watch, and perhaps snooze in front of, the NFL game on the TV. But this game is certainly not one that you will want to snooze through, as the 6-6 Cleveland Browns run the gauntlet at Lambeau Field to meet the 9-3 Green Bay Packers.
The Cleveland Browns, for so long the whipping boy of the AFC, have emerged as a legitimate contender in 2021. Under the guidance of first-year head coach Kevin Stefanski, the Browns made it to the AFC Divisional Round last season and their roster is as talented as any in football. Not since Bernie Kosar have they had so much hope and talent in the quarterback position. The loss of OBJ at the trade deadline this season has perhaps blunted their offensive threat slightly, but let’s be honest, he wasn’t the sharp weapon of old. He hasn’t been that for some time now and Baker Mayfield’s preference for Jarvis Landry has meant that the Browns have been able to absorb Beckham’s loss with minimal adjustment.
Green Bay has had a rough stumble through November after a blazing start to the season. After dropping the season opener to the Saints, the Packers won seven straight before injury and covid seemed to catch up with them as they struggled through a two for four spell last month. In December, they have traditionally been strong as the bitter Wisconsin winters give them a 12th-man advantage over opponents. With niggling injuries healing, they are hoping to put the Aaron Rodgers Vaccine-gate hooha behind them and finish the season with a flourish.
Interleague play being what it is, this will be the first time that the Packers have faced the Browns since the 2017 season, and the first time they have hosted Cleveland in Green Bay since 2013. The Packers have won four of the last five meetings between the two. You have to go all the way back to 2001 to find the last Browns victory over Green Bay.
Most people will watch this game on television or streaming sites, but if you are of a mind to head up to Green Bay you can find tickets through StubHub or Ticketmaster for as low as $79 and up to $1160 for lower level seats, with an average price of $161.
If you will be joining the rest of us and watching from the comfort of your sofa, you can find the game on Fox and the NFL network. Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m. ET.
