Hirving Lozano stretchered off in Napoli’s Europa League match
The Mexican international was hit on the head in the Serie A side’s 3-2 win against Leicester City and had to be substituted before the break.
Hirving Lozano suffered a hit on the head on Wednesday and had to be stretchered off and replaced before the break in Napoli’s 3-2 win against Leicester City in the UEFA Europa League. This was the last game of the group stage and the Serie A side needed the three points in order to advance to the next round.
Napoli did their job and knocked the Premier League side out of the competition. After the match the Serie A club gave an update on the injury to the Mexican international, who suffered a serious head injury over the summer during the Gold Cup tournament.
Injury update
“The instrumental tests carried out on Hirving Lozano, following the injury sustained during the Napoli-Leicester match gave a negative result. The footballer did not suffer a concussion or an intracranial trauma,” a statement read.
Lozano has made six appearances for Napoli in the Europa League and has scored one goal. The Partenopei have secured a spot in the next round of the campaign and the draw for the knock-out stage will be held on 13 December in Nyon, Switzerland.
