Ricardo Pepi makes his first Bundesliga start with Augsburg
The United States men’s national team striker made his first start in Europe in Augsburg's 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.
Ricardo Pepi earned his first start in the Bundesliga in Augsburg's 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday on matchday 19. The United States men’s national team player was focused from the beginning of the game and in the first 10 minutes he had an opportunity to find the back of the net.
Pepi almost scored his first goal
The 19-year-old was very active during the game. In the 45th minute Mads Pedersen sent a low cross inside the box for Pepi and the United States international was able to strike the ball, but it was blocked by the goalkeeper.
Pepi was taken out in the 84th minute and he was replaced by Alfreð Finnbogason. The United States men’s national team player completed 71.4 percent of the passes he made and one of them was key for Augsburg during the match.
The USMNT striker finished with three shots on target and he was able to find the back of the net, but the goal was disallowed by the VAR for a previous foul. With the draw Augsburg remained in 15th place in the table with 19 points and a record of four wins, seven draws and eight losses.
