When will Alphonso Davies return for Bayern Munich?

The Canadian international has been sidelined since January due to symptoms of myocarditis, a mild heart condition, and he is still weeks away from playing a match.

When will Alphonso Davies return for Bayern Munich?

Good news for Bayern Munich because Alphonso Davies has returned to practice, but he is still several weeks away from playing a game. This means that the 21-year-old will be ruled out of Canada's final three 2022 World Cup qualifying matches next week.

Injury update

Davies has been sidelined since January because he started suffering from myocarditis, a mild heart condition related to covid-19, and it has been a slow road to recovery. Bayern Munich’s head coach, Julian Nagelsmann, hinted that the Canadian international could return for the Champions League quarter-finals scheduled early next month.

"The best case scenario for Phonzy is that his heart muscle inflammation is gone. However, if everything goes very, very well, he will miss three, maybe four weeks, because he is only allowed to undertake very moderate efforts the first week," Nagelsmann said through an interpreter Saturday.

"Next week on Friday we have to do another MRI scan to check how he's doing. The fluid from the pericardium is gone, everything looks good. We're pleased and very happy with how it's turned out and hope he finds his feet again quickly."
