The ‘Air’ actor got the word “Nomad” tattooed on his arm, and the finished product was posted by the artist on his Instagram account.
“Got to tattoo an idol of mine! Such a cool job to have great experiences like these. #mattdamon,” the artist wrote.
Along with getting his own tattoo, Damon also got to tattoo the artist as well.
“And Mr. Damon tattooed me! His first time tattooing! A small universe… aka a dot! The tattoo has great meaning!
“For his late father we tattooed NOMAD which was his fathers boat and also says DAMON backwards! Pretty rad tattoo with so much meaning!”
How did Kent Damon pass away?
After appearing in Matt’s film ‘Stuck on You,’ the beloved actor passed away in December 2017 at the age of 74.
The news came after his long battle with a cancer called multiple myeloma, which is a rare blood disease.
Matt Damon has since helped raise awareness and funds for cancer research and treatment, and even opened up about how it felt receiving his father’s diagnosis in a 2021 interview with Dax Shepard on his ‘Armchair Expert’ podcast.
“For the first seven years there were things that worked really well for him,” the actor said.
“So he’d get like an infusion every two weeks. And he’d have one sleepless night then he was great. He had wonderful care at Mass General in Boston.”
Matt Damon set to star in the 2023 film ‘Air’
Along with getting a tattoo, Damon is also taking over the big screen alongside his longtime friend Ben Affleck for their upcoming film ‘Air’, which hits theaters on April 5.
According to the film synopsis, ‘Air’ follows Sonny Vaccaro (Damon) and Nike as they pursue basketball rookie Michael Jordan, creating a partnership that revolutionizes the world of sports and contemporary culture.
Both actors explained in a recent interview with CBS News, that part of the reason they took on this project was the fact that they got the chance to work together again.
“That was one of the things that we kind of wanted to do,” Affleck said, “The idea of, like, why aren’t we hanging out and spending more time together, since we managed to stay friends this whole time?”
“Plus, we hit our 50s,” Damon added on. “I mean, you can see the end of the tunnel!”
