One of the recent debates that emerged on the show, was the use of English subtitles for shows and movies filmed in English.
The claim of using subtitles was that, ‘even though speak English, you make sure you catch everything’. John Isner maintained that most people activate English subtitles to gestures of derision from his co-hosts.
‘Peaky Blinders’ was one recent show where the hosts did confirm they activated subtitles due to the strong Birmingham accents. Isner was ribbed by the other three hosts and they claimed that his desire to use subtitles for films and shows in English was ‘an age thing’.
