As the Razzies’ organisers put it ahead of the 44th edition of the ‘anti-Oscars’: “Barb-enheimer brought the industry the hitz, but there were still some shitz”.

Expend4bles topped Razzies nominees

Announced in January, the nominees for this year’s Razzies were dominated by the comedy action film Expend4bles, the fourth instalment of the Expendables franchise. Starring the likes of Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, 50 Cent and Megan Fox, the movie had an unmatched seven nominations, including a nod for Worst Picture.

Statham and Fox were also up for Worst Actor and Worst Actress, respectively - but not for their performances in Expend4bles. The Brit has been nominated for his role in Meg 2: The Trench, while Fox’s turn in Johnny & Clyde has earned her a shot at unwanted individual recognition.

With five nods each, Exorcist: Believer and Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey were the 2024 Razzies’ second-most nominated films. So, without further ado – drum roll please – let’s check out all the categories, those nominated and, lucky them, the winners.

Wins in summary: Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey (5); Expend4bles (2); Johnny & Clyde (1); Mercy (1).

Who votes for the Razzies?

Just as Oscar winners are voted for by members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science, the recipients of Golden Raspberries are chosen by the Razzies’ membership.

Joining the Academy is a process that requires an invitation from the body’s board of governors, and is open only to elite industry professionals. To become a member of the Razzies, payment of a $40 fee will suffice. This year’s Golden Raspberry recipients were selected by 1,179 voting members.
