Taylor Swift conspiracy theories are getting wilder: Finding human remains near her beach house has Swifties freaking out

The Taylor Swift fans are notoriously dramatic, but this recent theory might just blow them all out of the water.

Update:

Apophenia, the human tendency to see meaningful patterns or connections in random or unrelated events, is a curious evolutionary trait. I’ll leave that there.

In May 2025, a human leg bone was discovered near Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island beach house, sparking a wave of speculation among fans in an outburst of emotion that’s entirely juxtaposed to the Swifties’ usual calm, collected nature.

This strange find coincided with a series of 12 other bodies found across New England in recent months, leading some to theorise about a potential serial killer in the region. The fact that this was the 13th body—Swift’s famously favourite number—added fuel to the speculative fire.

Taylor Swift and the number 13

Online communities, particularly Reddit forums, buzzed with satirical theories linking Swift to the discoveries. On the r/SerialKillers Reddit page, one user wrote: “By her house. 13th body. 13 is known to be her number. Washing up? She sings a song that heavily implies dumping a body off a boat. She’s known to sing about personal experiences … Pls don’t sue me Taylor this is satire I am a big fan.”

One Redditor went even further, going so far as to work out the proximity of the bone to Swift’s residence, calculating it as 0.13 miles away—a nod to her lucky number.

Despite the online chatter, local authorities dismissed any connection between the bone and criminal activity. Westerly Police Chief Paul Gingerella stated that the bone had “nothing to do with any serial killer or any New England murderer,” but one neighbour was having none of it, saying “I would definitely disagree with that. I think finding a leg is very suspicious.”
