What do we know about Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift? Says he ‘threw the ball in her court’

After failing to give his phone number to Taylor Swift at one of her Eras Tour concerts, we’ve got a number of reports suggesting that things are warming up between NFL star Travis Kelce and the singer for a number of weeks. And now Kelce has said that he’s thrown the ball into her court in terms of what happens next.

Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, the Kansas City Chiefs man laughed about the interest that this ‘romance’ story had been getting, but he seemed happy to play along.

“It’s like an old game in school of telephone, where everyone’s just whispering in each other’s ear,” he said, but added that he “threw the ball in her court.”

“I told her, ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead’,” he continued. “‘You might have to come to see me rock a stage at Arrowhead, and see which ones a little more lit.’ We’ll see what happens in the near future.”

The challenge is set.

Swift and Kelce had been “quietly hanging out”

Previously, according to a report from The Messenger, on the back of a cruel summer, the singer -- who had a rather spectacular evening at the MTV VMAs -- and the Chiefs player allegedly hooked up following her not being able to shake him off.

“Taylor and Travis have been quietly hanging out,” the source said to the outlet. “She saw him when she was in NYC a few weeks ago.”

As questions continue to be posed to anyone remotely linked to the pair, romance rumors trundle on. And the athlete had confirmed that he was in New York when speaking on the 31 August episode of “New Heights,” the podcast he does with his brother Jason.

When his brother asked him what he had done over the weekend, the Chiefs’ tight end tried to be coy about his whereabouts. “What did I do? I can’t remember. I don’t think I did much,” he said.

However, a little more pressing from the older sibling got Travis to admit that he “disappeared.” “I think I was in New York,” he added before quickly changing the subject.

In another part of the episode, the brothers were discussing Travis’s mustache when Jason asked if he had “found out what Taylor Swift thinks” of his new look.

“Um, yeah, we’re not going to mention Taylor Swift in this episode,” Travis replied. “But something tells me she’s going to like it,” he added.

In another episode of the same podcast, Travis shared the story of his failed attempt to speak with Taylor during her stop in Kansas City on her Eras Tour on 7 July.

Following a tradition created by Swift’s fans, who are popularly known as “swifties,” Kelce attended the concert wearing friendship bracelets, including one with his phone number, which he hoped to give to the singer. Unfortunately, the Chiefs star couldn’t complete his mission.

“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” Travis shared on the 26 July episode.

“Is it your number 87 or your phone number?” Jason joked. “You know which one,” Travis responded.

We’ll just have to wait and see if his wildest dreams come true, and a love story blossoms after telling her “you belong to me.” Fingers crossed that she doesn’t end up saying “I knew you were trouble” and “we are never ever getting back together.”
