What role will Terminator’s Linda Hamilton play in Stranger Things season 5?
It was announced that the iconic actor who played Sarah Connor battling for the survival of humanity will join the cast for the final season.
On Saturday we learned that Linda Hamilton will feature in the fifth and final season of the sci-fi series Stranger Things. The announcement was made at Netflix’s TUDUM event and fans of those fighting against the Upside Down, as well as those with fond memories of the Terminator franchise, were immediately intrigued as to what role the actor would take.
Stranger Things: writers’ strike delay
As John Connor said in the Arnold Schwarzenegger-led movie from the ‘80s, “the future has not been written,” and that line couldn’t be more appropriate when it comes to the situation with the latest Stranger Things season.
That’s right, despite the exciting news about Hamilton, production of the final season is being hampered by the current writers’ strike.
“Writing does not stop when filming begins,” Matt and Ross Duffer posted back in May. “While we’re excited to start production with our amazing cast and crew, it is not possible during this strike. We hope a fair deal is reached soon so we can all get back to work.
“Until then - over and out.”
So, the woman who famously played Sarah Connor will be back, we’re just not exactly sure when yet. And the much sought after information on her role in Stranger Things is being well guarded. In our own resistance movement, however, we’re currently building a time travelling portal to jump into the future and find out more... but it’s taking a while.
Hamilton coming to Hawkins
It was the terminator himself who introduced Hamilton to break the news.
“I’m excited that I can announce that my old friend, a fantastic actress, a badass, is joining the Netflix family,” Schwarzenegger began, “in one of my favorite shows, and I know you love this show too.” He then handed over to the new recruit.
In her video clip, Hamilton thanked her former co-star and suggested they went out for dinner, as well as admitting she was going to find it a challenge being a Stranger Things fan while acting in it.
“I’ll see you in Hawkins,” was her parting words, and now we await details of what part she’ll play.
