Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith rumors continue as their California home goes up for sale for $2 million

Hollywood stars Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, whose marriage is the subject of consistent speculation, have set tongues wagging once more by apparently placing one of their properties up for sale.

Smith and Pinkett Smith offload another home

Realtor.com’s Charlie Lankston reports that Smith and Pinkett Smith, who tied the knot in 1997 but now live independently from one another, are seeking $2.1 million for a five-bedroom home located in Woodland Hills, an upmarket suburb of Los Angeles, California.

Although Smith and Pinkett Smith are not believed to have lived in the Woodlands Hills home at any point, it is the second time in just over a year that they have shed a home from their property portfolio, Lankston adds.

In February 2024, they sold a five-bedroom house in Pinkett Smith’s home city, Baltimore, for a reported $817,000.

Both houses are significantly smaller than the largest home owned by the actors: a $42 million mansion located on 150 acres of land in Calabasas, California.

“Separate lives”

An adobe-style property designed by the architect Stephen Samuelson, the Calabasas home was built as a main residence for Smith and Pinkett Smith, who have two children together, plus a son from Smith’s first marriage.

However, the pair no longer share the nine-bedroom, 13-bathroom home: in October 2023, Pinkett Smith revealed in an interview with NBC’s Today Show that she and Smith opted to begin leading “separate lives” ¡n 2016.

“A lot of things” had led to this change in their relationship, Pinkett Smith told the Today Show’s Hoda Kotb. “I think by the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying. We were both still kind of stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.”

However, Pinkett Smith stressed that she and Smith had no plans to divorce, telling Kotb that she had “made a promise” that she would never take that step. “I just haven’t been able to break that promise,” the Girls Trip star said.

In an interview with People magazine, also given in October 2023, Pinkett Smith added that she and Smith were “still figuring it out” in the wake of their 2016 decision.

“We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together,” she said. “We’ve just got deep love for each other and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us.”

“Haven’t completely severed ties”

A year and a half on from Pinkett Smith’s Today Show revelation, it’s unclear exactly where her non-cohabitational, mutually-independent marriage with Smith is now at.

In January, a source close to the two celebrities told People magazine that they may lead independent lives, but there is still no shortage of overlap between them.

“Call it what you want,” the insider said of their relationship. “They are living their own lives but haven’t completely severed ties.”

Meanwhile, another People source appeared to go one step further by insisting that Smith and Pinkett Smith are not yet over as a romantic couple, despite their post-2016 living arrangement. They ”are still together”, the individual said.

Smith’s steamy show sparks speculation

In February, Smith then prompted furious social-media speculation over his love life when he gave a raunchy recent performance of his new song “First Love” with the Spanish singer India Martínez.

The 56-year-old, who on Friday released Based on a True Story, his first rap album since 2005, appeared to lean in for a kiss with Martínez while on stage at the Premio Lo Nuestro Awards in Miami.

However, the steamy moment appears to have been no more than part of the performers’ choreographed routine.
