A young man quit his job minutes after starting his first day at a company
The influencer Jordan Howlett explained on his TikTok account the choice he was given his first day of work and why he made the decision he did.
The American tiktoker and influencer, Jordan Howlett, published a video on his TikTok account explaining the reason why he resigned from his job just 47 minutes after starting on his first day.
Jordan has more than 11 million followers on his TikTok account, and in one of his viral videos a follower asked him “What was the quickest job you quit and how long did you last?” The answer to which the influencer published a video that has caused hundreds of thousands of reactions on social networks, leaving many users shocked.
According to Howlett, it was “an office job” for which he had to go through two or three interviews beforehand. “The first day I clocked in at twelve noon. And by 12:30, the manager of that job walks in and sees me. He’s like, ‘Oh hi! Nice to meet you,” he explained. Immediately, Jordan’s boss quickly noticed that the new worker had hair from his pet, a cat named Harvey, which is shown lovingly cuddled in his arms in the video, stuck to his clothes and asked him if he had a cat.
But he saw that I had cat hair on my outfit.” And he’s well like, ‘Do you have a cat?’
“I said ‘Yeah, his name is Harvey,’” he responded just before taking out his cell phone to show his new boss some photos of the animal. But his supervisor reacted in a way that was not expected at all. The manager said: “At some point you’re going to have to choose between the job and your cat,” Howlett recalled. “Because my allergies are way too bad to have cat hair around.”
“You’re telling me to choose between Harvey or this job?” Howlett responded. His superior told him that that was indeed what he was asking, so at 12 :47 of that day, Howlett left work: “I packed up all my stuff and walked out. So, by 12:47 I clocked out and never came back. So look, me and Harvey are like a team is what I’m trying to say right now.”
A very applauded decision
Given Jordan’s decision to leave his job forever and thus not be separated from his faithful companion Harvey, hundreds of thousands of users who have seen the video have celebrated and supported the decision made. The video currently has more than 633,000 likes, almost 6,000 comments and more than 6 million views on the platform.
