The man stumbled across two key boxes of Lego and pieced together the legendary item, turning a gamble into treasure.

He paid $200 for two boxes of Lego, and then built an iconic collectors item now worth a small fortune
Lego, founded in Denmark in 1932, has been captivating children and adults alike for decades. Over time, some of its bricks have come to be seen as more than just toys – for many fans they are collectible items, valued by enthusiasts much like works of art.
These brightly colored pieces can be used to build anything the imagination allows. In the beginning, Lego sets offered small figures such as houses, boats or helicopters. Gradually, over the years, the sets evolved into complex designs capable of delighting everyone equally.
How the Black Pearl Lego came to be
One of the most valuable is the Black Pearl, the ship from the Pirates of the Caribbean saga, released in 2011. A Lego devotee recently showed just how much it can appreciate in value after managing to gather all the parts, assemble the vessel, and watch it rise to a sum few would expect.
According to GamePro, via HuffPost, a new version of the original Black Pearl now sells for an average of $760 to $1,085. Meanwhile, a used set missing a few pieces goes for around $410. With those figures in mind, it’s no surprise that Reddit user BakeBagBak took notice when he spotted black sails in two boxes crammed with Lego pieces.
He quickly got to work and, using the two boxes, succeeded in building a complete ship – the only piece missing was the figure of Davy Jones. Having paid $200 for both boxes, he managed to turn his discovery into a highly profitable find.
