Iowa Primary Election 2022: Full Results, Senate, Governor, House of Representatives

Iowa voters take to the polls to vote in the state’s primary to select candidates for Senate, Governor and House for the November 2022 Mid-Term Election.

The polls are now closed in Iowa. Voters have cast ballots for the House of Representatives, US Senate, and Governor in addition to state level elections.

US Senate Race

The Republican Senate race has been called in favor of current Sen. Chuck Grassley by the Associated Press. Michael Franken, a former Navy Admiral has defeated Congresswomen Abby Finkenauer who had been a favorite in the race.

House of Representatives

The 2022 House of Representatives were not very competetive in Iowa. Less than an hour after polls closed and most elections have already been decided. The only race in question is the Republican primary in Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District where State Senator Zach Nunn is facing off against Chicago native Nicole Hass. Nunn has now been projected the winner of the race and will compete against Democrat and Incumbent Congresswomen Cindy Axne in November.

  • Republican: Mariannette Miller-Meeks (Incumbent) 

2nd Congressional District 

  • Democrat: Liz Mathis
  • Republican: Ashley Hinson (Incumbent) 

3rd Congressional District 

Democrat: Cindy Axne (Incumbent) 

Republican: Zach Nunn projected winner 

  • Zach Nunn
  • Nicole Hasso

4th Congressional District 

Democrat: Ryan Melton 
Republican: Randy Feenstra (Incumbent) 
 

 

 

Governor

Current Republican Govenor Kim Reynolds will face Democratic businesswoman Deidre DeJear in the fall.
