Not Costco or Target: these are the stores that will remain open on Easter Sunday in 2025

Easter weekend is coming up and several retailers will be closed for the holiday. Find out which stores will stay open and which will close.

The Easter holiday is coming up this Sunday, April 20. Although it’s not a recognized federal holiday in the United States, Easter is a significant religious and cultural event.

So while banks and government offices are not legally required to close either on Sunday or the following Easter Monday, several stores and restaurants will still be closed in recognition of the holiday on Sunday.

Easter Sunday: Which stores will close and which will remain open?

Here are some of the major grocery store chains and shops that will be closed for Easter Sunday, April 20, and which ones will remain open along with their operating hours.

Costco
Sam’s Club
Lowe’s
TJ Maxx
Marshall’s
HomeGoods
Macy’s
Nordstrom/Nordstrom Rack
JCPenny
Kohl’s
Belk
Burlington
Office Depot/OfficeMax (Locations in Puerto Rico will also be closed on Good Friday, but U.S. stores will remain open on that day)

Stores open on Easter Sunday:

Walmart
- Regular store hours
Home Depot
- 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Bass Pro Shop and Cabela’s
- 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (some locations will be subject to the hours of the mall or shopping center they’re within, so check with your local store for specific operating hours on Easter)
REI
- noon to 6 p.m.
IKEA
- 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Petco
- Regular store hours
PetSmart
- 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tractor Supply Company
- 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Some stores might be either opened or closed depending on their location. Customers are encouraged to contact their local store to confirm business hours on Easter for the following stores:
