Trump does it again! He plans to fire his national security adviser and these are his reasons
Donald Trump is, according to reports, set to fire Mike Waltz, his National Security Adviser.

Donald Trump has reportedly made the decision to fire his National Security Adviser Mike Waltz in a move that would also see Deputy Advisor Alex Wong step down.
White the White House is yet to comment, reports of a strikingly similar nature are emerging at the time of writing concerning the potential firing; should it occur, Waltz would be the first major departure in Trump’s second term in office.
Why is Trump firing Mike Waltz?
The potential decision comes just weeks after Waltz took responsibility for a group chat in which Atlantic magazine editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg was added to discussions with high-ranking officials regarding military strikes in Yemen; the BBC were told that “Goldberg’s number had been accidentally saved in Waltz’s phone as an alternative contact for national security spokesman Brian Hughes”.
Who is Mike Waltz?
Waltz, among Trump’s first appointments after his election, was a congressman from Florida’s sixth congressional district from 2019 until he resigned in January.
Who will replace Waltz?
At the time of writing, we’re not sure, although the favourite - if Waltz does go - is Trump’s long-term friend, Steve Witkoff. A former real estate investor, lawyer, and diplomat, Witkoff was made special envoy by Donald Trump, and he has been leading negotiations with Russia, Iran and Hamas in Gaza - all of which have ended in a stalemate.
Politico sat that “other possible contenders include Trump’s top policy chief Stephen Miller, National Security Council senior director for counterterrorism Sebastian Gorka and Trump’s special envoy for special missions Richard Grenell.”
Mike Waltz has left the chat.

Only a few hours ago, Mike Waltz spoke to US media in his capacity as national security adviser. He praised Trump’s administration for modernising the military: “This is exactly what our modern force needs as it moves out of those protracted Middle East wars to deal with the modern warfare that we’re seeing, from space to cyberspace to drones to missiles. All of those in the hands of our war-fighters now.” It could well prove to be the last thing he says in this capacity.
