There wasn’t much for Trump supporters to hang onto as they watched Kamala Harris slice him up time after time in the most recent presidential debate. The Vice President was in fine form as Trump fumbled for answers that didn’t include the word ‘China’ or ‘they’.

As a result, plenty of people with American flags in their Twitter bios jumped onto the conspiracy theory boat, and clutched at the nano-thin straw of Kamala Harris’ earrings that she chose to wear for the debate, saying they were, in fact, tiny audio earpieces that allowed her to hear from members of her campaign.

The rules were incredibly strict for the debate, with only a pen, some paper and a bottle of water allowed for the two candidates. No pre-written notes were permitted and candidates could not talk to their teammates during the two scheduled commercial breaks.

Despite these well known rules that both parties agreed to, the people still searched for ways to dig into Kamala, with some saying she was wearing ‘Nova H1′ audio earrings. The device consists of small, real pearls that hide a pair of wireless speakers, which transmit audio up and into your ears. But sorry, Kamala wasn’t wearing them.

What earrings was Kamala Harris wearing?

Instead of the $695 for the gold version of the Nova H1 earrings, Harris’ Tiffany earrings start at $2,000. Yes, the Vice President was wearing Tiffany South Sea Pearl Earrings, the same ones she’s been seen showing off on many previous occasions.

German startup Icebach Sound Solutions, who supply the Nova H1 earrings, weighed in on the situation, updating its homepage with a graphic of the election and a caption that said a “special edition” of the earrings would be available for presidential debates.

They also added that “following the presidential debate we have been contacted by numerous TV shows for interviews. After thorough discussions we have decided that we will grant one live interview to clarify the rumours and myths surrounding our wonderful products. Our chosen interviewer is Jimmy Fallon, a trusted Bavarian in heart. Please refrain from any interview requests if you are not Jimmy Fallon. Thank you!”
