Houston Astros vs Philadelphia Phillies Game 5 of the World Series: pitchers, lineups, stats, etc.
Two historical records were made at the 2022 World Series 24 hours apart; one for the Phillies, one for the Astros. What will Game 5 of the Series look like?
The Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies will continue the 2022 World Series on Thursday night for Game 5 at Citizens Bank Park.
Only 24 hours after putting up an offensive display that saw the Phillies get five home runs, Philadelphia went completely hitless in Game 4. The Astros, on the other hand, threw the first combined no-hitter in world series history to even the Series at two games apiece with a 5-0 Game 4 win over the Phillies.
Astros starter Cristian Javier played admirably against a Phillies lineup that was averaging seven runs at home this postseason. Javier walked two and struck out nine over six no-hit innings.
The only previous no-hitter in the World Series was Don Larsen of the New York Yankees with a perfect game against the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1956.
