Update:

For the first time in over 30 years, World Series baseball is back in Toronto. The Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers are set to go head to head in the elite competition when they face each other in the upcoming fixtures.

Parents have long told stories of 1993, and now a new generation of Canadian fans will be giving their team a rapturous welcome at home in Game 1 of the series, with tickets going for extraordinary prices in the days leading up to the event.

Who is throwing the first ceremonial pitch at the World Series?

At present, it’s not known who will throw the first ceremonial pitch at Rogers Centre for Game 1, but one person has revealed that he will be involved at some point.

“The Dodgers are good, but the Blue Jays have that championship pedigree”

Joe Carter, a legendary figure in the franchise’s back-to-back World Series titles in 1992 and 1993, has spoken out about his upcoming duties as one of the first pitch throwers for the 2025 World Series, telling USA Today that “they’ve saved me for the last 32 years, I’m due.”

While the Dodgers are looking for back-to-back titles of their own, Carter is not underestimating the power of history: “The Dodgers are good, but the Blue Jays have that championship pedigree. It showed in their DNA when they lost the first two games at home, then went to Seattle where they had to win, and come back home where they had to win. I’m telling you, we can do it. The city of Toronto is going to be rocking. All of Canada is going to be so pumped up. And, I’m so pumped up.”
