After fighting back in the final quarter to win at Chase Center in Game 1 on Thursday, the Celtics visit the Warriors on Sunday having stripped Golden State of home-court advantage in the 2022 NBA Finals.
Playing in the first ever Finals game of his 15-year NBA career, Al Horford was the star of the show for the Celtics, scoring 26 points as Boston earned a 120-108 victory and drew first blood in the series.
The 36-year-old’s total of six successful three-point shots was the most ever by a player making his Finals debut.
The Celtics are going after what would be a record 18th NBA title - but only the second won by the franchise since 1986. The Warriors, on the other hand, are chasing a fourth championship in eight years.
After Game 2 at Chase Center, the best-of-seven series goes to Boston’s TD Garden for Games 3 and 4 on Wednesday and Friday, respectively.
