Curry vs LeBron: This is when the Lakers will meet the Warriors in the NBA Rivals Week
The Golden State Warriors and the LA Lakers both play twice in Rivals Week, which culminates with Curry vs LeBron.
Two of basketball’s biggest icons will come head to head in NBA Rivals Week, which will see LeBron James' Los Angeles Lakers and Steph Curry’s Golden State Warriors face off.
What is NBA Rivals Week?
Since 2022, the league has dedicated an entire week to “classic and budding rivalries between teams and players,” as the NBA itself puts it. This year, that will see both the Lakers and the Warriors in action on two occasions, with the meeting between the two providing an eagerly-awaited finale to the concept.
On January 22, the Warriors will take on the Sacramento Kings, their Californian rivals, at Golden 1 Center with a major point to prove. On Monday (January 20), the San Francisco-based team suffered their heaviest home defeat under coach Steve Kerr, losing 125-95 to the Boston Celtics.
The following day, the Lakers, the second most successful team in NBA history with 17 championships, will play the Celtics, whose 2023/2024 triumph took them put them out in front with 18 victories.
