Update:

The NBA’s regular season takes a pause as the biggest super stars in the game head to San Francisco for All-Star Weekend. Over the next few days the Golden State Warriors home court, the Chase Center, will be hosting the three day long spectacle, but Golden State’s golden boy won’t be participating in one of the biggest events of the All-Star break.

No Curry, no party?

Steph Curry isn’t just the greatest three point shooter the NBA has ever seen, he is also a two-time Three Point Contest Champion. With the All-Star festivities being held on his home court, you might have thought Curry would be eager to put on a show in front of his home fans. That, however, isn’t the case.

Last year, Curry wasn’t a participant in the Three Point Contest, but he did take part in a battle of the sexes shooting contest with Sabrina Ionescu of the WNBA. The two sharp shooters went head-to-head in a one-off three point contest that Curry narrowly edged out Ionescy in what was probably the moment of All-Star Weekend last year from Indianapolis. It was confirmed on Thursday night that the head to head battle between the WNBA’s best shooter and the NBA’s best three point shooter ever will not be happening.

While Curry won’t be a part of the Three Point Contest, but it will still be the event that draws the most excitement and attention. The dunk contest, the skills event and even the All-Star game have been changed so much over the last decade or two that no one really knows what to expect. With so much uncertainty around those events ratings, and interest tend to plummet. The three point contest has essentially remained the same since it’s introduction in the 80s, and that’s why people still tune in to see the best shooters in the world going head to head.

Here are your 2025 Three Point Contest participants.

  • Jalen Brunson, New York Knicks
  • Cade Cunningham, Detroit Pistons
  • Darius Garland, Cleveland Cavaliers
  • Tyler Herro, Miami Heat
  • Buddy Hield, Golden State Warriors
  • Cameron Johnson, Brooklyn Nets
  • Damian Lillard, Milwaukee Bucks
  • Norman Powell, Los Angeles Clippers
