Update:

If statistics are to be believed, Boston Celtics fans can throw in the towel as their team trail the New York Knicks (2-0) in the Eastern conference playoff semi finals as the series heads to the Big Apple for the third game in the best of seven series.

Stephen A. Smith is a well-known hardcore fan of the New York team and is bubbling with excitement at the prospect of the Knicks overcoming the 18-times-champions from Massachusetts and challenge for the title.

Since 1956, 463 series playoff games (non-seven-games series included) started with a team winning each of the first two games. In 429 of those, the team with the advantage won the series to progress. Only 34 teams were able to overcome the 2-0 deficit, a 7.3% success rate.

The Knicks have only bagged two NBA championships in the franchise’s history (1979 and 1973) and are edging towards an Eastern conference final where the winners of Cleveland or Indiana await.
