This is how much money Indiana Pacers coach Rick Carlisle makes a year
We take a look at the salary of Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle, who has led the team to its first NBA Finals in a quarter of a century.

Rick Carlisle, who remains on track to lead the Indiana Pacers to a historic NBA championship triumph, is reported to be among the highest-earning coaches in the North American basketball league.
Can Carlisle complete championship charge?
Now in his second spell as Pacers head coach, Carlisle has piloted Indiana to this season’s NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder - the team’s first appearance in the championship series since 2000.
The Pacers took an early Finals lead in Game 1 on Thursday, when Tyrese Haliburton’s buzzer beater completed a 111-110 comeback win in Oklahoma.
Should the Pacers come out on top in the best-of-seven series, it will be the franchise’s first title since it joined the NBA in 1973.

What is Carlisle’s Pacers salary?
A coach who had a four-year stint in charge of the Pacers between 2003 and 2007, Carlisle then steered the Mavericks to a championship during a 13-season tenure in Texas, before returning to Indiana in June 2021.
Carlisle signed an initial contract reported to be for four years and $29 million, before agreeing an extended deal in October 2023.
Although the Pacers say it is “team policy” not to disclose the terms of its contracts, the extension was described by ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski as “multiyear”. What’s more, Sportico has reported that the Indiana coach now pockets around $9 million per season.
While that figure is well short of the estimated $17.5 million paid to Golden State Warriors boss Steve Kerr each year, it places Carlisle among the top 10 highest-paid coaches in the NBA, Sportico said.
One of the NBA’s “most creative and successful coaches”
“It goes without saying that Coach Carlisle is one of the most creative and successful coaches in the history of the league, so there was never a question that he continues to be the right person to lead our team,” said the Pacers’ president of basketball operations, Kevin Pritchard, when Carlisle’s extension was announced.
“His ties to this organization and community run deep, his guidance and leadership are invaluable to our players and staff, and we’re looking forward to working together for years to come as we build something special for our fans.”
