On Monday, the team said an MRI had confirmed the injury. Wembanyama last played on Friday in the Spurs’ loss to the Golden State Warriors, logging 38 minutes.
He has been brilliant this season, averaging 26.2 points and 12.9 rebounds through 12 games. He also leads the NBA in blocks with 3.6 per game for the third straight year.
San Antonio sits near the top of the Western Conference after opening the NBA season with nine wins and nine losses, a start that has already sparked optimism.
