Warriors fans won’t like Draymond Green’s harsh truth about Kerr’s “fading dynasty” dig
Veteran forward Draymond Green had some harsh truths for Warriors fans as he addressed comments from Steve Kerr.

Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green recently delivered a candid assessment of his team’s current place in the NBA, and if you are one of the fans still hoping for another title run, my advice to you is skip down the page a few lines or strap yourself in for a ride.
In the wake of head coach Steve Kerr’s blunt admission that the Warriors are a “fading dynasty,” Green did not disagree when speaking on his own podcast. Instead, the Golden State veteran agreed with him, explaining what the situation promises when it comes to the franchise’s future.
“When you get down to it, the reality is it’s true. Dynasties don’t last forever. What you do is you try to prolong them as long as you can. You try to build on them as much as you can. But it’s true,” Green said on “The Draymond Green Show.”

“Guess what? Steph Curry’s in year 17, I’m in year 14...”
Kerr’s comment came at a time when the Warriors are navigating one of their most uncertain stretches in years. No longer the dominant force that took home four championships between 2015 and 2022, Golden State now finds itself hoverring in mid-table obscurity through the 2025–26 season.
What’s more, in the three seasons after their 2021-22 NBA Championship, they have finished with two disappointing second-round playoff exits and missed the playoffs once.
“Now, he didn’t say we’re a dynasty that faded,” Green added. “He said we are a fading dynasty. Guess what? Steph Curry’s in year 17. I’m in year 14. Klay Thompson, who’s gone, would be in year 15. When you talk about the dynasty, Steve Kerr is in his 12th year of coaching ...”

“We’ve been at it for a while. So, when he says we’re a ‘fading dynasty,’ everyone knows that he’s not throwing salt. He’s not putting the team down. It’s true. But it’s our job as the ones inside the dynasty to try to prolong it as long as we’re given the opportunity,” Green concluded.
