New York Knicks small forward Bojan Bogdanovic went off early against the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 4 of the Playoff series. Since then and with his side already having played (and won) one game against their next opponents - the Pacers - in the next round, his return is still up in the air.

With his side trailing, the Croatian fell to the floor and footage showed that his ankle rolled underneath an opponent when he hit the floor.

What injury does Bojan Bogdanovic have?

He was quickly taken off and the Knicks posted an update shortly after play resumed, saying “Bojan Bogdanovic (left foot contusion) is questionable to return”. The Croatian has, as the Knicks have revealed, suffered a left foot contusion, which is a bruise in layman’s terms.

The news then came out in the third quarter of the game that Bogdanovic would not be fit to return to the game.

It was later revealed by the Knicks that Bojan’s injury was indeed much more serious, with his return switched to ‘out’ and the side announcing that he would undergo surgery and be re-evaluated in three months.

Who is injured for the Knicks?

As well as their Croatian, the Knicks are also set to be without Julius Randle, who remains on the sidelines. The 29-year-old from Dallas is a long-term absentee for the side after he suffered a shoulder injury. Like with Bojan, Randle will also go under the knife to resolve his physical issue. The Knicks said the 29-year-old would be “re-evaluated in five months”.

The final name on the official NBA injury list for the Knicks is Mitchell Robinson. The Florida native’s injury status was updated ahead of the second game against the Pacers, with the team saying that he had suffered a stress injury to his left ankle and will be re-evaluated in 6-8 weeks.

The Knicks host the Pacers in New York today, Wednesday May 8 2024, with tip-off at Madison Square Garden scheduled for 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
