The Milwaukee Bucks and the Golden State Warriors are on the brink of winning the semifinal round of the NBA playoffs, and they might be able to do it at home.
Boston Celtics @ Milwaukee Bucks - (2-3) 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT
The Bucks looked like their were on their way out of the playoffs as they trailed the Celtics by 14 points in the last quarter of Game 5, despite a fantastic night of shooting by Giannis Antetokounmpo. Defensive Player of the Year Jrue Holiday stepped up and helped save the day for Milwaukee, first by immobilizing Marcus Smart, and then by sinking the three-pointer that tied the game with 43 seconds left.
Antetokounmpo recorded 40 points and 11 rebounds, Holiday contributed 24 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, while Bobby Portis had 14 points and 15 rebounds, as they edged out Boston 110-107.
For the Celtics, Jayson Tatum shot for 34 points and Jaylen Brown for 26. Boston will need to recover from blowing the lead after three and half quarters of being ahead, if they are to stay alive in the playoffs.
Memphis Grizzlies @ Golden State Warriors (3-2) - 10:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. PT
The Grizzlies were able to avoid being kicked out of the playoffs and stay in contention by whipping the Warriors in Game 5 134-95. Memphis showed the depth of their bench as seven players ended the night with double-digit score.
Golden State has to be able to find a way to manage the league’s best offensive team this season if they are to bounce back and win the second-round series in Game 6.
