This game marks the second time that the WNBA All-Star Game features the USA Basketball vs. Team WNBA format. The first encounter was in 2021 before the Tokyo Olympics, where Team WNBA secured a 93-85 victory.

Interestingly, similar matchups occurred in 2004 (ahead of the Athens Olympics) and 2010 (non-Olympic year), although those were considered exhibition games.
