The Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs are set for their second matchup in a matter of days, and for a second straight game both teams will be without their biggest stars.

A game lacking star power

It was supposed to be a matchup of a two of the biggest stars in the league. One closer to the twilight of his career, going up against the future face of the league. Both Stephen Curry and Victor Wemabanyama will miss tonight’s rematch of Saturday nights game in which the Spurs topped the Warriors from Golden State.

Both Curry and Wemby missed Saturday’s game and will miss tonight’s game with ankle injuries. Curry rolled his ankle in the Warriors’ game against the Bulls on Thursday night, while the Frenchman twisted his ankle early in the Spur’s loss to Houston on Tuesday. While he finished the game agains the Rockets, he missed San Antonio’s next game against the Kings, and was out against the Warriors on Saturday.

MRI results show no structural damage to Curry’s ankle which means the injury isn’t considered to be to serious, but will keep him out for at least tonight’s game. He is set to be reevaluated on Tuesday, while there is no timetable set for Wemby’s return.

Curry isn’t the only one on the injury report for Golden State, rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis is questionable tonight, dealing with a right ankle sprain. Continuing with the theme of the night, Spurs’ big man Cedi Osman will also be out with a left ankle sprain.
