Will Bronny James play with the Lakers in the 2025 Las Vegas Summer League?
After three games in the California Classic, the Los Angeles Lakers head to Las Vegas for five more Summer League matchups.

As he prepares for his second season in the NBA, Bronny James is on the Los Angeles Lakers’ roster for the upcoming Las Vegas Summer League, after experiencing mixed fortunes in two run-outs at the recent California Classic Summer League.
What were Bronny’s stats in the California Classic?
The oldest son of Lakers superstar LeBron James, Bronny put in an encouraging display in L.A.’s 103-83 California Classic win over the Miami Heat on Sunday.
In 10 and a half minutes of court time at Chase Center, the guard scored 10 points - including an emphatic dunk. He also registered two rebounds and a steal.
However, while the Lakers also beat the Spurs in the California Classic on Tuesday, Bronny found the going tougher against San Antonio. In just over 15 minutes on court in San Francisco, he was limited to two points, one assist and one rebound.
A second-round Draft pick out of USC, Bronny posted very similar figures in a quiet rookie season in the NBA.
What were Bronny’s 24-25 NBA stats?
The 20-year-old - who is the first player to appear alongside his father in the NBA - was restricted to 27 appearances for J.J. Redick’s team in 2024-25, averaging 2.3 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.8 assists.
Bronny spent a chunk of his rookie season playing in the NBA’s developmental league, the G League, where he registered significantly more impressive figures. In 11 games for L.A.’s affiliate team, the South Bay Lakers, he averaged 21.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists.
Who are the Lakers’ Summer League opponents?
After two wins and a defeat in the California Classic - the Lakers lost 89-84 to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday, in a game Bronny missed - the 17-time NBA champions now head to Nevada for five Las Vegas Summer League matchups.
And L.A.’s Las Vegas opener is an eagerly-anticipated event: Thursday sees Redick’s men face the Dallas Mavericks, who are set to hand a debut to No. 1 Draft pick Cooper Flagg. Per ESPN, tickets for the Flagg-Bronny encounter at Thomas & Mack Center are in high demand.
